I thought I have experienced everything dealing with our shelters, but this takes the cake. SRSC put a rescue hold on a dog at one of our local shelters over a week ago. The shelter called Karla last week to tell her that they had changed his available date after finding a microchip. In the mean time I sent another member down to the shelter just for a second opinion on what he was mixed with and to check on his status. They told Tom that he might be transferred over to the Long Beach area and still have not located the owner. If the owners did not respond the dog would become ours on the 14th. Being the shelter is not reliable on returning calls, I called this morning to see if we could adopt him tomorrow the 14th, you would not believe what the lady told me! She explained that they neutered and microchiped the dog for SRSC on the 3rd with out telling us. So the chip they found was theirs and this poor dog has been setting in the shelter all this time. I cannot believe the mentality of these people.

Turns out to be he is a Sammie. He is on our adoptables list now as Diesel.
I could not believe when they called me that he had a chip after being at the shelter for so long already. Then it turns out to be their chip! Crazy!
