A few people have asked me how to post new items on the Forums. So, I'll give it a try.

First thing to know is terminology:

Forum Home: The web page that you access when you click on the Forums link from the NSR home page. The URL is http://www.samoyedrescue.org/forums/index.php. It shows the Webinar notice, some of the recent postings, information about how many people are accessing the Forums, etc.

All Forums: The web pages that contain the actual forum postings. The URL is http://www.samoyedrescue.org/forums/forums.php. It's accessible by clicking All Forums in the link bar near the top of any Forums page.

Now comes the tricky terminology. I hope I get this right, and someone please correct me if it's wrong.

Forum: Each of the major discussion areas is a Forum. They're in the dark blue strips, such as "National Samoyed Rescue Forums", "NSR Webinars", and each affiliate rescue has it's own forum area.

Topics: Within each forum you'll see a list of Topics. Examples of Topics: "General Discussion", "Training", "Webinars-Open Forum".

Threads: Threads are the separate discussions within each Topic. So, if you click on the Topic "General Discussion", you'll see a list of threads, such as "NSR News", "SCA 2006 National Specialty", etc. The name under the thread title is the person who started that thread. The Last Post column shows who last responded to that thread.

Discussion Threads are grouped under Topics, which are grouped under Forums. The idea is to allow people to pick and choose which topics they're interested in and to be able to ignore whatever they aren't interested in.

So, the thread is the level of actual discussion. It is a thread that you'll post or reply to. To post a new thread, click on the New Thread button on the upper left area of the page. To read an existing thread, open the thread by clicking on the title of the thread in the list. To send a response to a thread, open the thread and click the Post Reply button on the upper left area of the page.

I hope this helps.
