Ullr & Taylor, while better about going outside, are back to barking then. Mike and I talked about it, and we're attacking the problem together. :) We're insisting that they get BACK about 3 ft or so behind the door (and behind the person opening the door). That's step one. The other is using the word "GENTLY!"

We taught the dogs gently for taking treats. So, we're now expanding that to moving slowly and carefully no matter what they're doing. Gently out the door one at a time:run: ...after they're BACK is helping when there isn't a huge distraction like the UPS lady showing up. They LOVE this lady that brings boxes! I'm not sure we'll ever get them calm when she's in the driveway!

Getting Ullr to sit is making SUCH an improvement! I now can get him to sit quickly:spot: , say "Gently!! One at a time!!" and open the door and call their names to go out one by one. Of course, Ullr still tries to 'jump' at which the door shuts and his head slams into it, but he's trying that less and listening a bit more. The others all tried that a couple of times, but they could see it was shut and stopped. They don't try that much anymore, but Ullr still has to test the limits. :bang head:

I even got them all sitting when Mike came home yesterday -- so now we'll have to 'practice' having someone drive up.
