In 2004 we started a new tradition of giving out an award to the rescue dog who is entered in the most events at the national. Jim provided an award for last year, but I think we should come up with something that we can do each year.

I recently went to an Akita specialty. The awards they had for the winners were stained glass Akitas on a post that was stuck into a piece of driftwood. They were desktop size. Made me think of Pam's stained glass Sammies (and Pam's really cool avatar reminded me of this!). Pam's Sammies are so popular, it might serve as an incentive to get people to enter events if we offered one as the rescue award. What do you think?

I love the avatar, too! If Pam has something available, sounds like a nice idea. Another idea would be a "gift certificate" for the Rescue store... that way, it would give the recipient a lot of choices & support Rescue at the same time.

I firmly believe that the presentation of Rescue Awards should be an ongoing/permanent thing at the Specialty with an every expanding theme (i.e.--Award for Weight Pull, Best Costume, Most Entries by a Rescue Dog, etc.)

This is something that needs to be discussed with the SCA who I feel will be totally receptive.
